vyborny byl dnes

it takes some time but eventually a day comes around that is just so perfect, it's hard to complain.

that was my day today.

i started my day with a trip to my czech class. mel presentaci. byla vyborna. (i had a presentation. it was excellent.) the thing with the presentation was that, not only did i have to suffer through the entire class because the other presenter went at the beginning and then we did alternative activities until the end, but i also had to have memorized what i wanted to say, even though i had been under the impression that i could have a cheat sheet. anyway, all that's useless information for you. it went extremely well.

i progressed from there directly to the gym. it's not often that i have the motivation to hit a gym at 10 a.m. i was sore from the weekend, wherein i joined said gym and continued to work out until my arms and back fell off (or as David Cross would say, "THEY LITERALLY FELL OFF, DUDE!"). i went to yoga yesterday and stretched out my sore muscles, but they remained stiff and sore today - but that didn't stop li'l ol' me. nah-uh. i worked out again. lightly though. some cute li'l czech kids decided to stare at me as i was on the stair master as well.

the whole thing with working out is really not that i want to be a hypermuscular. not at all. actually, i shudder when i see the specimens walking around the gym. they lift weights and stare at themselves in the mirror as they're doing it.

no. working out used to be an activity and something that i forsee will ease my progression through life. i'll be healthier and i'll be stronger in a leaner, more natural sense. and now that i've added yoga to the mix, i'll be balanced and focused.

anyway, i followed up my gym time with a walk around central Prague (to see the sites where Amadeus was filmed) and also with about 3 litres of water. the weather was almost ideal (lots of sun in wintertime is a good thing) but finding bathrooms to complement my 3 litres of water was not so ideal. regardless, it was a nice walk. i think the best part was that i found all kinds of new passageways and secret alleys so i can now avoid the tourists even more fluidly come summertime, unless, of course, i'm guiding them around town!

i finished my walk at a restaurant where i planned to meet my friend for lunch. when i entered the restaurant, i ran into another friend and his lunch companion - this friend had been unable to come to lunch with me because he was already meeting this companion for lunch. with a great sense of serendipity, i sat down to lunch with them and my lunchtime friend showed up about 30 minutes late, which is about par for the course for him.

i followed lunch by actually getting quite a bit of work done towards nudging our (my business partner and my) business into existence.

i have neglected to mention, that on top of all this i'm house-sitting in a really nice flat...

where i had a poker night to finish off the night. (a few friends came over and i swept them under the table with a clean sweep, pocketing 300 crowns in the process - i had a lot of luck, admittedly, and they had horrible luck, admittedly.)

and so, it was an excellent day. even a simple day like that can be extremely gratifying. of course, i do have to deal with a litter box before bed, so things could still go horribly awry...
