laura's in LOOOOOOOOOVE!!!!
she's engaged to the Hotpoint String Band (they've agreed to eat soup and live in her bathtub as long as she supplies them with expensive single-malt whiskey),
she's pining after David Rawlings (the guitarist for Gillian Welch), and is currently courting a Panamanian tree-climber.
This is the she-siren I must live with.
And I didn't even mention: The Davids. that's right, there's several of them.
Me, myself, I'm doing well. Dereck is showing up here in 24 hours, then Zdanna, then Jen and Bear and Dan and Carrie.
as jen said "Its raining people!"
true true.
my teaching job is failing to give me my paycheck, for various reasons, and that my friends is scary, but hopefully this world will see to work it out for me. In the meantime, I plan to revel in my company, and in my kitchen, which is full of delicious food.
i hope you are all able to do the same. i plan on truly giving thanks.
all my love,
megan
i'm waiting for the day
when his words don't matter any more
and i can live
how i live
when i live
and words don't scare me
but for now
i've built my life
precariously
a house of cards
and its hard for me
to keep shuffling the deck
i know i'm not doing "right"
but i'd like to remind us all
that i'm not doing "wrong" either
and though
i know
you only want the best for me
my words are my own
and my choices will have to fall
on my own head
i'm doing the best in this world that i can
as i see it
and i know
that right now
i am exactly where i am supposed to be
i wish we might all have that faith
so that other people would stop threatening
the fragile tower of
hope
i've built myself into
wowsers, that was scary.. what happened to all those entries?
ah yes, i said to myself a new month, a new part-time job..
so, my financial life is improving... not quite yet, but its on its way.
1. I am almost done training at part time job, number one, the Curious Apple Learning Center for Georgetown mommies... which means, in addition to spending much more extensive time with children than with the telephone, i will begin to make much bigger bucks. YEAH!! This is nice. It makes me happy. also, my boss rocks. more about my boss later... no, how about now.. her name is liz. she just had her first baby, luke, who is 14 weeks old, and is amazing.
it is mind boggling to watch this child discover how to do things. see, if you haven't spent a lot of time with infants, you simply don't realize that they don't _DO_ anything.. just eat and cry and sleep and pee. seriously. but he's starting to understand his muscles, how pushing his feet into something will make another part of his body (his legs, trunk, etc) move into the air. raising himself up. today he discovered the upper register of his voice, and all he could do was shriek like a little boy soprano... unbelievable.
2. My job at the temp agency. is extended. not the hours, i'm only going to be getting 15 a week, but until the end of the year. so, yeah! but, you ask in fear, what will you do at the end of the year? don't tremble so, for never fear ....
3. ... I have part time job number 3, i shall be nanny extraordinaire for cute jewish family near my house. how can i work three part time jobs, you may ask? and so i shall tell you... pt3 only needs me for five hours a week until the end of the year, at which point they will need me for 20 to 30 hours a week. so, while i'm only getting five hours with LJF (Lovely Jewish Family) as NIT (Nanny In Training), I"m still getting 15 with crazy-sad pt2.
ach. it will all get so less complicated in january.
but in any case, i don't think I'll owe laura that much money for that much longer.
huzzah.
as to the rest of it.... we're still working on that.
needless to say, my little project is slowly working along. Tomorrow I'm meeting with a 50 year old Nasa Employee...
yeah. pretty fricking exciting.
ah, great big midwestern thunderstorm. here in my front yard. nothing, nothing better.
