Two Things in Life

Theatre and a Home.

I have both now.

I got a role in Strindberg's The Father, and I got the keys to my new apartment over lunch today.

The role is small, but paid. The apartment is small, but I don't plan on spending much time in it anyway.

Pretty busy over the past week or so. But nothing interesting to write about, just paper writing and business at work.

I got a little bit of a breath after returning to the country, before things kicked into high gear. So I'll write about that.

The night I got back from the Czech Republic, I had a staged reading at the Bryant-Lake Bowl (which had somehow miraculously managed to win its first night of competition in order to be included in the "encore performance night").

We've started moving things from our apartment. Well, my brother has started moving things, I've just found a new apartment and started boxing up my books.

Auditions have started up again. I have two this weekend. But none of them are for musicals. The musical theatres in this town have to hold there auditions sometime. Don't they?

Happy Birthday to my brother!

For my brother's birthday... I got an apartment!

The rental agency (ugh. I am going to miss having a real living human landlord instead of a company) called to say that my application was good and that they will take my money, so I will be able to move in by the end of the month!

I want to go celebrate that, but "celebrating" signing a lease for a new apartment would entail staying at home and trying to save up for moving expenses.

Instead, I am going to meet my brother as he gets off work and take him out for dinner to celebrate his birthday.

Cafe

After talking to a friend from Prague, turns out that the coffee houses like the one I raved about are not all that uncommon in the city.

I found the website for the cafe (called the The Meduza). The site is in Czech, but there are pictures of the cafe here and here.
